Nursing Student Jennifer Scott Published in Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing
September 12, 2013
The October 2013 issue of the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing includes an article written by Jennifer Scott, BSN, RN, OCN, a graduate nursing student from the College of Nursing and Health Professions. “Therapeutic Misconceptions and Misestimations in Oncology: A Clinical Trial Nurse’s Guide,” was written to increase nurses’ awareness of the misconceptions that occur in oncology trials that “may compromise informed consent.” Scott defines therapeutic misconceptions and misestimations and explains how clinical trial nurses can prevent them.
Scott wrote the article with input from her mentor, assistant clinical professor of Nursing, Janet Zimmerman. Fran Cornelius, PhD, Chair of the Division of Graduate Nursing, claimed that the Journal’s choice to publish the article is “clearly a reflection of the mentorship [Scott] received from Janet.”
