October 24, 2013

Jacqui Van Grouw, a Master’s student in Human Nutrition at Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions, published a paper entitled “Childhood Obesity in America” in the October 2013 issue of Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Obesity with Stella Volpe, PhD, Chair of the Department of Nutrition Sciences. The paper provides a review of recent advancements in the field of childhood obesity, especially looking at obese adolescents suffering from metabolic syndromes (METs). Van Grouw, the first co-author, writes that gaining a comprehensive view of factors associated with obesity in children is crucial for developing intervention strategies in the future.
