October 24, 2013
On October 2, distance learning faculty reached an impressive milestone when they conducted an online learning session, via BlackBoard’s “Collaborate” tool, with a record 215 students in attendance. “Teamwork at Drexel made possible our successful Collaborate session with 215 participants, using AppShare and chatting,” said Karyn Holt, PhD, an associate clinical professor and the Director of Online Quality at the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Paul Clements, PhD, an associate clinical professor and the Coordinator for the Contemporary Trends in Forensic Healthcare Certificate Program at the College, called the Collaborate session an “exciting event,” and reported that there were no issues with sharing nor sound, despite the high volume of attendees. He extended his thanks to his OLT colleagues and to Gary Childs, liaison librarian for Health Sciences, for contributing to the success of this groundbreaking Collaborate session.
