Roberta Waite, EdD, an associate professor and the Dean of Academic Integration and Evaluation of Community Programs at the College, co-authored an article titled “Self-Rated Health and Association with ACEs” in The Journal of Behavioral Health with Maureen Davey, PhD, an associate professor in the Couple and Family Therapy Department. In the article, Waite and Davey explain the connection between childhood trauma and poor self-rated health in adulthood. In the article, they drew information from the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study, a collaborative effort between the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Kaiser Permanente.

Waite is one of twenty national experts on ACEs who were invited to participate in the National Collaborative on Adversity and Resilience, which will take place in December 2013. She was additionally invited to be one of a select number of ACEs experts on the National Collaborative on Adversity and Resilience Cabinet, a project sponsored by the Institute For Safe Families and co-hosted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
