The Steinbright Career Development Center Goes Global
December 2, 2013
Are you the type of person who loves traveling and learning about new cultures? Are you seeking cooperative education opportunities in another country? You’re now likely to find the information you need, thanks to the new Going Global resource at Drexel.
The University is one of the only institutions of higher learning to offer a unique blend of in-class academics and real-world applications in the cooperative (co-op) education program, which continues to improve with time. The Steinbright Career Development Center, the go-to location for students seeking co-op opportunities, has recently announced that it will be expanding its services by “going global.”
Going Global is a new online employment resource database for faculty and professional staff in assisting students seeking national and international co-op opportunities and jobs. Going Global can be accessed on Drexel One under the employee quick link tab. The site contains career information for students looking to relocate to countries throughout the world, as well as most major U.S. and Canadian cities. The database contains Country Career Guides, USA and Canada City Career Guides, corporate profiles, worldwide job and internship openings, and a listing and collection of H1B visa employer listings. The database boasts 400,000 country-specific company profiles and more than 600,000 job listings in industries like finance, transportation, business, technology, healthcare, arts and entertainment.
Going Global is being utilized by Drexel students and alumni to better learn about co-op and permanent employment nationally and internationally, and to enhance their awareness about other cultures, living conditions, housing and visa requirements. In addition to these extensive resources, Going Global also provides information on current employment outlook, hiring trends, work permit regulations, salary ranges, cost of living, resume guidelines, professional and social networking groups, interview advice and cultural advice.
