Physician Assistant Faculty Achievements and Awards

The College of Nursing and Health Profressions' Physician Assistant faculty continue to make great achievements and win prestigious awards.

Patrick C. Auth, PhD, PA-C, Clinical Associate Professor and Director, Hahnemann Physician Assistant Program, presented at the “Clinical Coordinators Workshop” for the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Annual Education Forum in Savannah, GA, He also presented “ARC-PA: Is a Site Visit in Your Future?” and “ARC-PA Hot Topics” at the same meeting.

Charles Stream, MPH, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, Diana D. Smith, MHS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, and Donna Torbeck Reuther, MPAS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, presented “Analysis of Attrition Rates and First Time PANCE Performance Among Graduate/Undergraduate Students of the Drexel Hahnemann PA Program 2002-2006” at the PAEA Annual Education Forum in Savannah, GA.

Auth, PhD, PA-C, Clinical Associate Professor, Jose Barcega, MHS, PA-C, Clinical Assistant Professor, Nina Multak, MPAS, PA-C, Clinical Assistant Professor, Kathryn Grayce Barnes, MHS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, and Robert Young, MS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, presented “Assessing Experiential Learning in Geriatrics Using Reflection Papers” at the PAEA Annual Education Forum in Savannah, GA.

Charles Stream, MPH, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, Diana D. Smith, MHS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor and Donna Torbeck Reuther, MPAS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, presented “Number and Reasons for Clinical Site Discontinuation at the Drexel Hahnemann PA Program, 2002-2006” at the PAEA Annual Education Forum in Savannah, GA.

Nina Multak, MPAS, PA-C, Clinical Assistant Professor facilitated a “Simulation Special Interest Group” at the PAEA Annual Education Forum in Savannah, GA. This was the initial meeting of this new PAEA special interest group organized by Ms. Multak.

Robert W, Young, MS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, was one of three faculty members from three Graduate Programs at Drexel who spoke to approximately 40 students from the Bioscience and Biotechnology departments at the main campus. Other members of the panel included faculty from Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences and Education Department. The floor was open to the students for questions related to our respective programs. The session was moderated by Dr. Laura Duwel, Assistant Department Head of Bioscience and Biotechnology.

Kathryn Grayce, MHS, PA-C, Clinical Instructor, was one of three faculty members from three Graduate Programs at Drexel who spoke to approximately 40 senior students from the Bioscience and Biotechnology departments at the main campus. Other members of the panel included a practicing dentist and a science educator from Drexel’s School of Education. Each panel member was given the opportunity to describe their educational and work experience within their field. The floor was open for students to ask panelists questions regarding their respective career and educational programs. The session was moderated by Dr. Jennifer Stanford, Assistant Teaching Professor in Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology.

Ellen Feld, MD, FACP, Clinical Associate Professor in the Physician Assistant Program in the College of Nursing and Health Profession published the article “Keeping a Promise When a Life Is Near Its End” in The New York Times on November 11, 2008.
