Professor Cheryl Portwood uses principles of System Engineering to contribute to Healthcare Improvements
July 12, 2010
Professor Cheryl Portwood participated in a Purdue University Fuld Institute intensive focused on how principles of systems engineering can contribute to healthcare improvement. She will incorporate skills for interpreting systems analysis results, applying systems tools (processmapping, bottle neck analysis, queuing, lean engineering, simulation, optimization, dealing with uncertainty, “what if” analysis, quality control), and performancemonitoring techniques in the Leadership in Health Systems Management track.
