Susan M. Burke, PhD, RN, CPNP, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program, received a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the Catholic University of America, a Master of Science in Nursing from Villanova University and the Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. She has over 30 years of teaching experience in both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with experience in a wide variety of outpatient and specialty settings. Her areas of clinical interest are primary care/health promotion and the care of children with complex conditions. Her area of research interest is families, especially those experiencing crisis. She has participated in many community service activities such as Project Hope and Habitat for Humanity. She is currently a program evaluator for the CCNE (Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education) and has also served as a program evaluator for the NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accreditation Council). In June 2019, she was appointed to the program director-at-large position of the board of directors of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).
