Major: BS Computing & Security Technology

Year: Pre-Junior

Hometown: Hyderabad, India

I chose this major because...  After my first co-op, I was deeply intrigued by the constantly evolving landscape of cybersecurity and want to play a vital role in safeguarding our digital world.

Favorite Course(s): CIT 345: Holistic Self-Care, CS 164: Introduction to Computer Science, and CT 210: Open Server I

Clubs/Extracurricular Activities: President - Theta Chi Fraternity

Co-ops I've done: Cybersecurity and Compliance at FMC

Favorite thing/place at Drexel: CCI's building

When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... hanging out with my friends to explore new brunch places every Sunday.

When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... bike along the Schuylkill River Trail or hangout with your friends at Belmont Plateau.

Advice to new/incoming CCI students: Don't be shy to do stuff in Freshman year, everyone is in the same place as you. In terms of academics, try and follow a fixed schedule. After my co-op, I got used to the 9-5 routine and told myself I'm not doing anything except for studying, classes or homework during that time and after 5 p.m., I can do literally whatever I want.

What is your dream job? I want to open my own BPO company for Cybersecurity or become a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a good company

Favorite Animated Character: Popeye

Bio

I'm Sid Kampalli, an international student from India. I'm a CST major and I'm also minoring in CS. In my free time, I like to explore the intersection of Cybersecurity and Computer Science, leveraging my minor in CS to broaden my knowledge and skills. I'm always on the lookout for ways to make our digital world a safer place.

Beyond academics, I also wear the hat of President at my fraternity. This role has given me valuable leadership and organizational skills, as well as a close-knit community of friends who share my interests and values.
