Drexel CIRTL Practitioner Certificate

Drexel CIRTL Practitioners can:

    • Design and implement a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project.
    • Review and critique literature on teaching, learning, and assessment.
    • Demonstrate how disciplinary research informs one's own teaching.  
    • Develop learning communities with students and peers.
    • Design and implement teaching plans that leverage diversity to ensure success for all learners.

Complete the activities below to earn your Drexel CIRTL Practitioner Certificate. All evidence and video reflection projects can be submitted to Rachael Switalski, Director of Operations, CASTLE here.

Practitioner Level Requirements - Step 1

Register for and complete ISTM 511 Foundations in Evidence-Based STEM Pedagogy and ISTM 513 Improving STEM Education Through Research. (OR)
Enroll in ISTM 515 Seminar in UG STEM Education, and ISTM 517 Projects in UG STEM Education.
Design a SoTL project.
Register for and complete ISTM 511 Foundations in Evidence-Based STEM Pedagogy and ISTM 514 STEM Program Evaluation and Assessment. (OR)
Enroll in ISTM 515 Seminar in UG STEM Education and ISTM 517 Projects in UG STEM Education.
Design a SoTL project.
Register for and complete ISTM 511 Foundations in Evidence-Based STEM Pedagogy, and ISTM 513: Improving STEM Education Through Research
(OR) ISTM 514 STEM Program Evaluation and Assessment. 
Enroll in ISTM 516 Rotations in STEM Education and design a STEM education project and submit a faculty mentor agreement form to CASTLE.
Design a STEM education project.

  •  Attend one STEM Teaching and Learning event and submit evidence of attendance to CASTLE.

  

Practitioner Level Requirements - Step 4

  • Submit a three-minute reflection to CASTLE that details your experience designing, implementing, assessing, and completing a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Project. Videos can be submitted here
