Drexel CIRTL Associate Certificate

Drexel CIRTL Associates can:

  • Explain how to design effective and inclusive instructional materials and learning environments ensuring alignment between learning goals, assessments, and activities.
  • Identify relevant teaching, learning, and assessment literature.
  • Describe the impact of learning communities on student learning.
  • Recognize the diversity in one’s classroom and the need to address that diversity in one’s teaching practices.
  • Describe the process and significance of scholarly teaching (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and how it can be used to enhance student learning.

Complete the activities below to earn your Drexel CIRTL Associate Certificate. All evidence can be submitted to castle@drexel.edu

Successfully complete one of the PROFESS courses (511-514).
Must receive a final grade of B- or better.
Attend and complete the TA Orientation and Preparation course and one CASTLE or Graduate College event focused in STEM Teaching and Learning event or professional development (OR)
Send email about event attendance to castle@drexel.edu.
Complete the 8-week CIRTL MOOC "An Introduction to Evidence-Based Undergraduate STEM Teaching" (OR)
Submit evidence of impact of pedagogy course on participant's teaching (micro-teaching assignment, teaching philosophy, or course syllabus)
Register for and complete a Drexel elective on STEM Teaching and Learning (OR)
Must receive a final grade of B- or better.
Attend three CASTLE and/or Graduate College professional development or STEM Teaching and Learning events during the academic year. (OR)
