Chris Rodell Is Featured in an Interesting Engineering Article on Using Light to Expand Implants in Children August 20, 2024 Chris Rodell, PhD, assistant professor, was featured for his work with Amy Throckmorton, PhD, professor, and Kara Spiller, PhD, URBN Professor of Biomedical Innovation, all in School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, in the August 19, 2024 issue of Interesting Engineering. Dr. Rodell discussed how scientists use light to expand implants, thereby reducing child heart surgeries and how blue light has enough energy to start the reaction, while remaining safe for living tissues.
