Dr. Kurtulus Izzetoglu Receives a US DoD Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs Grant for His Portable Diffuse Optical Sensors Project March 31, 2021 Dr. Kurtulus Izzetoglu, associate professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems (PI), and colleagues received a 2-year, $1.86 million grant from the US Department of Defense-US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (DoD-USAMRAA) / Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), for the project titled, “Portable Diffuse Optical Sensors for Point-of-Care Monitoring in Prolonged Field Care.” The goal of the project is to develop a multifunction optical system and conduct animal studies to investigate cerebral and somatic signals in hemorrhage assessment.
