Dr. Kara Spiller, associate professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems and the Principal Investigator of the Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine Lab with Professors Aylin Sendemir and Ozlem Yesil-Celiktas from Department of Bioengineering, Ege University in Turkey launched a binational journal club last month with their students in the three labs.

This journal club was launched as part of exploring potential new collaborations between Drexel University and Ege University in Turkey.

The journal club research groups study biomaterials, biomimetic microsytems and regenerative medicine, including disease modeling by developing organ-on-chip platforms to improve the quality of life and the development of unique biomaterials and design of drug delivery systems that can be used and tested in these platforms.
