Dr. Peter A. Lewin, Richard B. Beard Distinguished University Professor and Director, Biomedical Ultrasound Research and Education Center in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, was inducted as a Fellow into The College of Physicians of Philadelphia at the college's fall College Night on November 15, 2019. The School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems’ contributions to life saving, life enhancing solutions for the betterment of societal health resulted in the elevation to Fellow grade of three of the school's faculty members: Dr. Banu Onaral, H. H. Sun Professor and Senior Advisor to the President, Global Partnerships; Dr. Paul Brandt-Rauf, Distinguished University Professor and Dean; and Dr. Peter A. Lewin. Dr. Michael DellaVecchia, who holds an MD degree in ophthalmology and is a school alumni, is also among the college's Fellows.
