Olivia Ngo Receives an F31 NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship

Olivia Ngo, PhD Candidate in BIOMED (Advisors: P. Lewin and K. Spiller), received a 4-year $300K NIHRuth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (Parent F31-Diversity) for the project titled, "Macrophage Phenotype Transition as the Biological Mechanism of Chronic Wound Healing Treated with Non-Thermal, Non-Cavitational Therapeutic Ultrasound." The prestigious fellowship covers full tuition, stipend, and educational expenses. Olivia's mentors on the project are Drs. Peter A. Lewin, Kara Spiller, Michael Neidrauer, Andres Kriete (all from BIOMED), and Michael Weingarten (Drexel College of Medicine).
The purpose of this Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research award is to enhance the diversity of the health-related research workforce by supporting the research training of predoctoral students from diverse backgrounds including those from groups that are underrepresented in the biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research workforce.
