Drexel University and APTLD Introduce a Cybersecurity Certificate Program to the Asia Pacific ccTLD Managers Community

September 7, 2021

Drexel University and Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD) are excited to announce the launch of the Drexel and APTLD Cybersecurity Certificate program this fall.

Leonid Todorov, General Manager at APTLD proudly states, "Our partnership with Drexel University marks a milestone development for both APTLD and the global domain industry. Together, we are crafting a bespoke academic curriculum for ccTLD managers to be delivered by a leading US university known for its commitment to innovation in teaching. We are particularly grateful for the University's contribution to our outreach effort in the South Pacific region and delivery of a cybersecurity class to over 200 representatives of the Pacific islands’ multi stakeholder community"

As part of this certificate program, APTLD members will have the opportunity to participate in a series of educational modules facilitated by Drexel faculty. This certificate program will strive to help its participants understand cyber security holistically. The modules proposed will guide the audience through cybersecurity, beginning at what cybersecurity is, how it is applied to a country code top-level domain’s (ccTLD) agenda, and means of information security to developing policies and rules around cybersecurity.

The program will be managed by the Drexel Solutions Institute which operates as the gateway for corporate partners to connect to the University’s world-class resources including talent pipeline needs and interdisciplinary R&D solutions that leverage Drexel’s R-1 research capabilities.

“We are thrilled to be working with APTLD on this exciting program and appreciate the opportunity to connect with a global audience on the importance of cybersecurity,” says Anna Koulas, Vice President of the Drexel Solutions Institute.

At the completion of the series, APTLD members that complete all the required modules will receive a certificate of completion from Drexel University.
