PUC Forum at Drexel
May 31, 2012
On May 31, 2012 the Office of Government and Community Relations teamed with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to hold a Forum to examine the increased use of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), specifically electric and natural gas. The Forum explored how the PUC can foster policies and regulatory frameworks that support investments in natural gas and electric vehicles and their required infrastructure. The move toward increased use of AFVs creates numerous issues and questions, many of which impact the PUC’s core functions.
Among those who testified were Drexel University Trustee Nick DeBenedictis, CEO and President of Aqua America, who announced that Aqua was going to transition portions of its larger vehicle fleet to compressed natural gas (CNG).
