October 8, 2015
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Street artist MOMO has tackled the vast intersection of art, science, and geometry in his work with students from Mural Arts’ Art Education program. He’ll be joined by a panel of special guests, all of whom will give short talks on the value of arts and design integration with math and science learning: Benjamin Volta, noted muralist and 2015 Pew Fellow; D. S. Nicholas, Drexel professor and founder of The Studio for Immersive Design and Engagement; and Youngmoo Kim, director of Drexel’s ExCITe Center and recent visiting technologist with Opera Philadelphia.
This event is part of Mural Arts’ citywide exhibition Open Source: Engaging Audiences in Public Space – taking place in October. Open Source is a groundbreaking outdoor exhibition of temporary, site-specific artworks that explore and illuminate Philadelphia’s diverse urban identity, curated by Pedro Alonzo.
