Bio:
Thomas's primary research interests include human-computer interaction, computing education, and web development. His work explores the barriers beginners face when learning to code and how systems can be designed to foster more productive experiences. With the openHTML research group, he's developed Snowball — a journalism tool for authoring expressive web articles, openHTML Editor — a web editor for formal learning contexts, and collaborated with the Mozilla Foundation on the design of Thimble and Webmaker.
