Bio
Nate is an applied linguist interested in multimodal communication and community development. Over the past decade, he has taught students across a wide range of ages, from young children to senior citizens. At his undergraduate university, he was a tutor for a variety of subjects, including Arabic, history, linguistics, and Spanish. He spent two years teaching English overseas before completing his master's degree at Penn, where he taught in community-based programs and served as a peer mentor for first-year students in the TESOL program. Additionally, Nate has several years of experience teaching SAT Reading/Writing, AP Language & Composition, AP United States History, AP Psychology, and college admissions essay writing to high school students across the United States. Outside the realm of education, he has several years of experience in the translation industry, as both a translator and project manager. Currently, Nate is a lecturer for Drexel ELC and Penn ELP, a teaching mentor for Penn GSE, and the head teacher for a community-based adult education program.
