Stern Community Lawyering Clinic

Drexel's Thomas R. Kline School of Law operates the Dornsife Center's Andy and Gwen Stern Community Lawyering Clinic. The lawyering clinic allows law students to serve as true community lawyers, addressing a variety of issues that affect Drexel’s neighbors. Students represent individual clients and families facing legal issues, provide training to community residents who face common problems and publish reports that advocate for policy changes that would promote justice and equality for Drexel’s neighbors.

During the regular law school semesters, Drexel law students enrolled in the Community Lawyering Clinic course address legal matters that are a concern to many West Philadelphia residents through cases and projects.
The cases and projects these students take on focus on topics like employment discrimination, equity in home utility billing, post-conviction relief, and homeownership issues.
