CASTLE Provides New Faculty Engagement Opportunity through a Pedagogical Happy Hour

October 26, 2016

Group discussion at CASTLE's partners meeting

CASTLE welcomes faculty to join the conversation at a newly implemented Pedagogical Happy Hour, funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The Pedagogical Happy Hour provides a casual learning environment for faculty to  share ideas about STEM teaching and learning; while enjoying refreshments.

This is an interesting pedagogical method of having a classroom taught in reverse, where students will learn at home and do work in the classroom. Faculty who plan to attend can register by emailing Flipped Classrooms. Each Pedagogical Happy Hour highlights a faculty member who will speak about a STEM teaching method that they use in their classroom. This month’s Pedagogical Happy Hour on Thursday, October 27th features Christopher Weyant, Ph.D., speaking on the teaching method, hhmiprogram@drexel.edu

Future speakers include Donald McEachron Ph.D., on December 1st, and Daniel Marenda, Ph.D., on January 26th. More information forthcoming.
