4/20, the unofficial day to celebrate cannabis, WURD held a frank and in-depth conversation about cannabis hosted by Brother Shomari entitled “More than Green: The Color of Cannabis.” The on-air and virtual forum included a conversation with Tauhid Chappell (President of the Philadelphia Cannabusiness Association) and Tayib Smith (Chief Strategist at The Growth Collective) on how cannabis is viewed in Black communities followed by a panel discussion examining the money, medical use and miscarriages of justice surrounding cannabis that included: Roz McCarthy (founder of Minorities 4 Medical Marijuana); Kristal Bush (Vice President of the Philadelphia CannaBusiness Association); Jim Seaberg (Assistant Director of Drexel’s Medical Cannabis Research Center); and J Desmond McKinson (legislative aide to Sen. Sharif Street).
