Cannabis Use Lower among CBD Users, New Study Reports

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a promising therapeutic agent that provide relief for a variety of medical conditions with mild or no psychoactive effects.
This study, conducted by researchers at Drexel University's Medical Cannabis Research Center and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, surveyed young adults who currently used cannabis in Los Angeles in 2019-20, and compared CBD-dominant and THC-dominant product users.
Key findings of the study include:
- CBD users consumed cannabis at lower frequency, except for oral forms.
- Young adult CBD users reported greater history of health conditions.
- CBD products were commonly used to relieve pain, anxiety and help sleep.
- Illicit drug use, including psilocybin use, was more prevalent amount CBD users.
