On November 18, 2024, Drexel University's Medical Cannabis Research Center (MCRC) welcomed Mike Lomuto, Board Chair of the Minority Cannabis Business Association, and Dr. Adrian Adams, New York State Director of Minorities for Medical Marijuana.

Mr. Lomuto and Dr. Adams gave presentations on the missions of their respective organizations, shared how the highly collaborative Equity Workshop Tour came to be, and reflected on a variety of issues impacting equity and access in the cannabis industry.

Mr. Lomuto has two decades of cannabis industry experience, committing the lion’s share of his current energy to advocating for the development of an equitable industry. To this effect, Lomuto has curated an aligned network while developing policy, educational, and business support initiatives nationwide, all aimed at creating greater equity and inclusivity, at the municipal, state, and federal levels.

Dr. Adams is a serial entrepreneur in medicine, cannabis, and hemp. In his current position, he has helped many Social Equity licensees enter the cannabis space.
