The Medical Cannabis Research Center Sponsors a Community Resources Event in Malcolm X Park
October 13, 2022
On October 8th Drexel University’s Medical Cannabis Research Center (MCRC) partnered with Drexel's Dornsife Community Wellness HUB and local West Philadelphia organizations in Malcolm X Park to provide free medical cannabis doctor consultations, free record clearing services, free food, free health screenings and connections to other health and social services. During the event, which was attended by approximately 100 people, 5 records were cleared, over 1,500 pounds of fresh foods were distributed, 30 medical screenings were completed, and 40 people signed up for a medical cannabis doctor consultation.
The goal of the event was to offer bring medical cannabis information and other services directly into the West Philadelphia community in an accessible park setting. The event was conceived and organized through close collaboration with the MCRC’s Community Advisory Board, which comprises Drexel students and members of the West Philadelphia community, including cannabis advocates and entreprenuers.
The Medical Cannabis Research Center would like to thank Verano and our community partners for making this event possible:
