The Drexel Medical Cannabis Research Center presents Dr. Cocchiaro who will be speaking on the importance of the patient/physician relationship, the medical benefits of cannabis, and the potential harms.

Patrick K. Nightingale, Esq, spoke on the current state of patient rights in Pennsylvania including constitutional issues, cannabis DUIs, employment rights, custody rights and other issues facing patients in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jeff Raber and Peter Tejera both serve on the Community Advisory Board for The CHAYA Project in Los Angeles which is focused on studying cannabis, health, and young adults.

The panel will be discussing the history of cannabis from the Black perspective on cannabis in ancient history, American history and modern history and how it relates to the current state of legalization and medicalization of cannabis across the country and specifically in the region.

Dasheeda Dawson will be speaking on the intersection of science, business and justice, the process of bringing testimony to the public and legislators, and how cannabis can be used as a tool to promote health equity.

Chris Goldstein is a regional organizer in NJ, PA, and DE for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) focused on cannabis consumer rights.
