May 2, 2016
Professor Joseph Hancock will lead a special summer course focused on retailing and brand engagement in Las Vegas. The class will travel to Las Vegas from August 11th – August 15th to visit the headquarters of online retailer Zappos; Liberty Fairs, the curated and contemporary menswear show; and Cirque Du Soleil’s current production of Humanity. Students will work in pairs to research, write, and create travel and style guides on casinos, analyzing and illustrating the casino’s lodging, shopping, and entertainment options.
The course, DSMR: T280 Retailing & Fashion Cities, will meet on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:50pm. DSMR T280 is open to 12 students, and you must be at least a sophomore.
