GDUSA Students to Watch
February 8, 2016
February 8, 2016 — Each year, Graphic Design (GD) USA releases Top Students to Watch, a roundup list of students who are ready to burst onto the design scene. Drexel Graphic Design students have been featured on the list since its inauguration in 2010. Our congratulations to seniors Jermaine Boca and Erin Chan, who are included on the 2016 list, which is sponsored by The Creative Group. GDUSA is the leading professional organization for graphic designers. In addition to recognizing our students, they have included Westphal College on the list of 2016 Highest Honors, featuring leading design schools from around the country.
Jermaine Boca will graduate from the Graphic Design program this year with a minor in Architecture, having completed her co-op at the email marketing company AWeber, where she worked on the in-house design team creating visual branding for print and web. In her GDUSA interview she talks about her favorite typeface (Foundry Gridnik), her design heroes (Massimo Vignelli, Jessica Walsh, Violaine & Jeremy) and her favorite movie (Miyazaki’s Spirited Away).
After graduating this year Erin Chan will launch her career in user experience design at the Philadelphia firm EY Intuitive, where she completed her co-op. She lists her favorite typefaces (Gotham, Gravur), fine artist (Seurat) and TV shows (Breaking Bad, True Detective) in her GDUSA profile here.
