What’s funny about a funeral?

Producer William Horberg will participate in a Q&A session as part of the Pennoni Honors College “Great Works Symposium” - the theme this year being comedy. Horberg, producer of such terrific films as “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, “MILK”, “Adventureland”,  and “Cold Mountain,” will speak to his experiences working across genres, and with different studios and filmmaking creative. A screening of “Death at a Funeral,” the 2010 film directed by Neil LaBute about a funeral ceremony that turns into a debacle of exposed family secrets and misplaced bodies will follow the Q&A session. This free and open to the public event will take place on Friday, April 15th in the URBN ANNEX screening room (3401 Filbert Street) at 1:15PM, screening to follow.

The Great Works Symposium is an interdisciplinary research and writing course offered through the Pennoni Honors College on topics of broad public interest that have a great societal impact. Past themes have included energy, democracy, and the frontiers of science. Next year’s theme will be water.
