Game Art & Production Professor Dr. Frank Lee is following up last year’s world record-setting game of “Pong” with an even bigger feat of video game hacking for Philly Tech Week’s opening celebration on April 4. A two-sided game of "Tetris," occupying more than 100,000 square feet of Brandywine Realty Trust’s 29-story Cira Centre, will give players a chance to square off from opposite sides of the city.

Lee is a co-founder of our Game Art & Production program, which was recently ranked No. 4 (undergrad) and No. 6 (graduate) in the nation by The Princeton Review. His Pong spectacle brought hundreds of gamers to the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art last year for the chance to play for a citywide audience. This time around, players will take the controller at Eakins Oval on the north side of the building, squaring off against opponents stationed on Drexel's campus, in addition to playing a cooperative version of the game in pairs. Lee is also planning to use all sides of the Cira Centre for the Tetris project – an upgrade from the single facade used to play Pong.
