Night of the Arts
November 02, 2015
Nearly 100 student artists will converge for an evening dedicated to celebrating the Drexel arts community on Friday, November 20, and you’re invited too! Hosted by Drexel’s Entertainment & Arts Society, MAD Dragon Media and the Drexel Alumni Association, Night of the Arts will feature live music, theatre, and dance performances alongside visual art displays and film screenings, as well as an auction for arts and entertainment events in Philadelphia. This event celebrates the vibrant and extensive artistic spirit that’s taken shape on Drexel’s campus, and it’s rooted not only here at Westphal but with students from all fourteen of Drexel’s Schools and Colleges. That spirit is reflected in the thousands of students who perform in an ensemble, belong to one of dozens of student organizations, or pursue an artistic passion on their own.
Night of the Arts will take place from 5:00pm to 10:00pm in the URBN Annex (3401 Filbert Street), and tickets are free for Drexel students or $5 for all others. Featuring dance, music, and the visual arts, the festival will conclude with a concert by Music Industry student bands The Last Frontier and RFA, in the Black Box Theatre (URBN Annex).
In addition to providing exposure for artists at Drexel, Night of the Arts is designed as an opportunity for students to network with industry professionals. For this purpose EAS focused on reaching out to Drexel alumni and creative professionals in the Philadelphia area, as a way to connect with past and potential co-op employers for students in the arts and entertainment fields.
The Entertainment & Arts Society formed in 2011 under the moniker EAM FUND to assist with the development, promotion, and management of arts and entertainment events created by undergraduate students. Recently renamed EAS, the group’s evolved mission is to serve as an arts advocacy group focused on fostering the artistic community at Drexel.
MAD Dragon Media is the artist services and development arm of MAD Dragon Music Group, a student-run organization in our Music Industry program.
