My thesis considers the relationship between retail mix and neighborhood change across Philadelphia’s commercial corridors. I am gathering input from corridor stakeholders around the city to understand to what extent they are able to control their retail mix and thus their ability to impact the direction and scope of change in the surrounding community. I will report on the social, structural, and environmental factors that present barriers for corridor managers in order to identify potentials areas for support and growth.
