The official welcome week for new students.

New Student Days: Monday, Sept. 15 - Sunday, Sept. 21

New Student Days is the official welcome week for new students entering Drexel in the fall term. New Student Days events allow students to build relationships with others who are in the same academic program and who live in their community.

Important Information:

The official New Student Days schedule will be available to download in early September. In the mean time, please review the information below to make sure you are able to attend all of the mandatory and optional events we have planned for you.

Information about Residence Hall Move-in

Please select your move-in date and time as soon as possible. New students with fall housing assignments may sign up for a move-in time online. Please log in to MyHousing via the DrexelOne portal. Refer to the move-in schedule below for an overview of what dates and times are available:

Domestic students will be assessed an early move-in fee of $45/day unless otherwise noted. Visit the University Housing website for more information about move-in.

Mandatory Events for All New Students

While most New Student Days events are optional, there are several events that all new students must attend. Most mandatory events occur on Friday, Sept. 19. 

General mandatory events are outlined below:

  • Residence Hall Floor Meetings (8 - 9 p.m. on the day you move-in).
  • College/School Welcome Events (Friday, Sept. 19; schedule coming soon)
  • Campus Safety Information Sessions (Friday, Sept. 19; schedule coming soon)
  • New Student Induction Ceremony (4 - 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19)

Events for Commuter Students

Commuter students are strongly encouraged to attend Commuter Connection Day and the Commuter Town Hall Meeting. Both events are designed to help transition undergraduate, first year commuter students to campus and connect you to the Drexel community.

Parents and families play an important part in the move-in process. We encourage you to accompany your student to help with move-in. There are also a few other events that happen during the week in which you can take part. 

New Student Days

We are able to provide a variety of services that help new students get settled. Stop by the Ask Me Booth in the Recreation Center lobby to learn more about the following:

  • Pick up a New Student Days schedule
  • Catch a shopping shuttle (free shuttles to Wynnewood and South Philadelphia shopping locations)
  • Meet to go on a campus tour or a walking tour of Philadelphia
  • Pick up the official new student t-shirt
  • Pick up and purchase tickets to Drexel Night at Citizen's Bank Park. Pre-order tickets today!.

Fall Orientation

Parents and families who did not get a chance to attend Orientation in the summer, may choose to register for Fall Orientation. Your student can add you to her/his registration using the DrexelOne portal. You can also register in person at the Creese Student Center during the following dates and times:

  • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 16
  • 8 to 9 a.m.; Wednesday, Sept. 17

Only a few meals are provided during New Student Days. Please utilize your dining plan or add funds to your DragonCard account to purchase food on your own during New Student Days.

The Dragon Expo is a campus resource fair where you can speak with representatives from a vairety of campus offices, departments, and community sponsors about the resources and services available to new students and families.

The Fall Merchant Fair is an opportunity for students, parents, faculty, and professional staff to meet and interact with DragonDollars merchant during the Fall Move-In Process. The Fair is free open to the Drexel community.
