Yi-Hsuan (Cindy) is a 2nd year PhD student studying Neutrino Physics under Dr. Michelle Dolinski. She is a member of the EXO-200 (Enriched Xenon Observatory) collaboration, looking for neutrinoless double beta decays in xenon-136 which will provide a limit on neutrino mass. Currently, Cindy is simulating the thermodynamic behaviors of the liquid xenon in the detector system. The preliminary model can be incorporated into the design of the multipurpose high purity liquid xenon detector laboratory (LXDL) and the next generation EXO detector (nEXO). The liquid xenon work will not only prove helpful for the particle physics community, but also for the designs of medical imaging liquid xenon detectors.

In addition to her research work, Cindy is well involved with physics education and will be starting her Particle Physics for Kids program, which aims to encourage students in urban public schools to pursue physics. Cindy is also involved in physics outreach for young women through Pathway to Science of Princeton Plasma Physics Lab.
