The Pennoni Honors College is, in the Dean's words, a place of innovation, creativity, and intellectual exchange. The branch of Academic Programs embody these qualities through courses, cocurricular programming, and events. The thread uniting Academic Programs is education across disciplines, offering Drexel students access to multiple academic perspectives. From the interdisciplinary academic plans students create in the Custom-Designed Major and Problem Solving Minor to the co-taught interdisciplinary classes in the Symposium to the Honors Program's multidisciplinary classrooms, Academic Programs strives to broaden student's engagement in a range of theories and methods.

Custom-Designed Major

The Bachelor of Science in the Custom-Designed Major (CSDN) empowers students to pursue individualized courses of study at Drexel University, not readily available through an existing major, or a combination of existing majors and minors. CSDN is designed for highly motivated students whose interdisciplinary curiosity and career ambitions cannot be satisfied by a traditional major.

Interdisciplinary Problem Solving Minor

Minoring in Interdisciplinary Problem Solving will help students integrate information, methods of inquiry, research skills, and experiential learning from across multiple fields of knowledge. Students will be encouraged to draw from their major field of study, while also exploring other disciplines related to addressing complex, real world problems. The minor will also encourage experimentation and synthesis while students engage with models of interdisciplinary research.

The Symposium

The Symposium is an interdisciplinary course series sponsored by the Pennoni Honors College and is open to all students throughout Drexel. Its intent is to explore subjects of the broadest possible interest and greatest societal impact. Through intensive examination of a different major theme every year, it brings Drexel University students, teachers, and visiting expert lecturers into collaboration.

The Honors Program

The Honors Program is a unique opportunity for students to create an additional layer to their experience at Drexel. The Honors Program offers a space in which students can grow as academics, professionals, and leadership opportunities and service involvement. In addition, the Honors Program provides students with unique connections to their peers and their Philadelphia community.
