As part of Drexel’s ongoing commitment to efficiency and excellence, we have partnered with Florence eBinders™ to enhance our clinical trials program at DUCOM. Florence eBinders™ provides automated compliance, remote monitoring and site wide visibility with global dashboards to help us tackle study tasks more efficiently and accelerate study start-up. Florence eBinders™ is a secure, 21 CRF Part 11 HIPAA-compliant system that replaces paper forms and physical binders, giving research teams a way to electronically sign, manage, store and collaborate on study documents including remote monitoring. Investigator Training

Please follow these steps to obtain Florence access:

  1. Complete Florence PI training for eTMF and eISF. Register Here
    Once all courses are completed, a certificate will be provided to you via email and within "My Profile" (top right on training site).
  2. Return the certificate of completion to your team administrator.
  3. Register in Florence by doing either of these:
    • Sign up on their website:  Florence eBinders
    • Follow directions on email “Action Required! You've Been Invited to Join a Florence Team” which will come from  Florence@researchbinders.com
  4. Print and sign (wet ink) Signature Log [pdf]. Return to your team administrator.
  5. Electronically sign as addendum the eBinders SOP.

Monitor Training

Please follow these steps to obtain Florence access:

  1. Complete Florence eISF training for monitors. Register Here
  2. Return the certificate of completion to your team administrator.
  3. Register in Florence by doing either of these:
    • Sign up on their website:  Florence eBinders
    • Follow directions on email “Action Required! You've Been Invited to Join a Florence Team” which will come from  Florence@researchbinders.com

Coordinator Training

Please follow these steps to obtain Florence access:

  1. Set up training with your team administrator
  2. Print and sign (wet ink) Signature log and upload into eBinders
  3. Diploma will need to be completed by your team administrator
  4. Electronically sign as addendum the eBinders SOP

What is an eBinder?

Florence eBinders™ is a secure, FDA Part 11 and HIPAA-compliant system that replaces paper forms and physical binders, giving research teams an efficient, compliant way to electronically sign, manage, store, and collaborate on study documents and to facilitate remote monitoring.

What browser should I use?

Below are listed the different browser options along with both their performance rating using Florence and any known issues with the tool. Florence supports the latest versions of the following internet browsers:

  • CHROME & EDGE: performance is optimal and is the preferred Florence browser environment.

At this time, Florence does not support the following browsers:

  • FIREFOX
  • INTERNET EXPLORER (Note: Microsoft has stopped supporting IE)
  • SAFARI

I cannot view my folder, binder or document.

Most of the time if you are unable to view a specific binder, folder, or document, you do not have the correct permissions to view that item. This could be because your role does not have the appropriate permissions, or it is not active.

Check with your Team Admin and make sure you are assigned the correct role, the role has been turned on, and that the role has the appropriate permissions to perform the desired action.

No Permission to Sign - What do I do?

If you receive an error message that you do not have permission to sign a document, reach out to the person who requested your signature (shown in the signature request email) or your team admin. They will need to assist in granting the correct permissions for you to sign.

File preview page is blank.

This means the file you uploaded contains some hidden information and Florence can not convert it and show a preview. If you download it, you will be able to see the original file content.

To be able to see a preview in Florence, remove the hidden information in the software where you created the file and re-upload it. See the instructions on removing it from Adobe files.
