Steven J. Peitzman, MD, is currently professor of medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine, formerly (Woman’s) Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He has practiced in the specialty of nephrology (kidney disease and hypertension) for over 30 years and has taught and lectured widely. He has published numerous articles in medical journals and one book. He is also recognized throughout North America and Europe as a historian of medicine and nephrology. He lives in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and volunteers with several local organizations.
