This Is Not the Usual Externship

Our law school may be young, but we are backed by Drexel University’s 100+ years of experience crafting real-world learning experiences through the co-op program. It may appear similar to a standard internship or externship, but it is unique in many ways:

• Placements available for all law students. Apply for an existing position by participating in the law school’s matching process that leverages students’ interests and strengths or work with the co-op program director to create your own.
• More than 200 co-op partners in law firms, corporate offices, government agencies, courts and public interest law organizations.
• A semester or academic year-long opportunity for significant course credit, ranging from six (6) to ten (10) credits per semester. 
• Satisfies the professional practice graduation requirement, and for concentrators, the experiential learning requirement of the concentration. 
• Work part-time in the regular co-op or full-time in the intensive version.
• Opportunity to stay local or take experience abroad or out of state.
• Law faculty regularly train co-op supervisors and monitor each student’s placement to ensure that the experience is meaningful.

In addition to helping you gain experience in legal practice, a co-op placement helps you forge relationships with some of the most experienced and successful professionals in the Industry. There’s no better way to make connections to develop a professional network.
