Faculty Upgrades

Every year the Provost offers a refresh for tenured and tenure-track faculty with older computers. This usually happens in the fall and an email is sent out from the Provost's Office. For more information regarding this program, please call the Provost's Office at (215) 895-2200.

Note 1: Apple iPad +3G

App purchases and 3G data plan are not covered by the University. If electing to use the cellular 3G connectivity, user will be responsible for monthly fees with selected provider (AT&T or Verizon).  You will not be charged unless you activate the 3G service right from your iPad.

Please note that when selecting an iPad, there can be no data transfer from another computer, this will need to be handled by the user. The iPad is a unique device intended to compliment an existing computer and in fact requires a computer for some operations. Please see (Apple's iPad information page) for additional details.

Donating Computers

When upgrading computers or peripherals, consider donating to TechServ. TechServ is a student organization that refurbishes and donates systems to people in need. Most computers and peripherals from within the last 5-10 years are acceptable for donation.
