Sapp ’17 Named Winner of Lip Sync for Scholarship Challenge

January 24, 2017

Corine Sapp ’17, a Bachelor of Science in General Studies student in Goodwin College of Professional Studies, has been named the winner of Goodwin’s Lip Sync for Scholarship Challenge, a student engagement initiative held in conjunction with Drexel’s 125th anniversary celebration.

The challenge tasked students with submitting a lip syncing video set to a song that inspires them to “find their fire,” a mantra of Goodwin’s Degree Completion programs. The submissions were judged by a panel of Goodwin personnel.

For her performance, Sapp chose Whitney Houston’s “Try It on My Own” in response to those who disagreed with her decision to finish her degree.

“My unconventional story should be an example to others that have the fear of starting over at the age of 40 plus,” said Sapp, who hopes to attend law school after she graduates this Spring. “If we step out of our comfort zone…we can find the success of happiness for the rest of our lives.”

Goodwin offers scholarships each year for academic performance, dedication to service, and student engagement. For more information, visit drexel.edu/goodwin/student-resources/scholarships.
