Interaction Magazine Fall/Winter 2013

Welcome to the latest edition of the School of Public Health's magazine, Interaction. It is an exciting time for the School of Public Health. We seated our 18th entering class of students this fall, including our largest ever class of Master of Public Health students. In early 2014, we are slated to move into a renovated Nesbitt Hall on Drexel's University City campus. And in February 2014, Ana Diez Roux begins as Dean of the School if Public Health. This issue also looks at the work of several alumni, faculty and students, many of whom traveled abroad to improve the health of communities in The Gambia, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Israel and Haiti.
We hope you enjoy the Interaction.
Field Practice: Sub-Saharan Africa
Seventeen students and faculty members traveled to Senegal and The Gambia to address maternal and child health. The trip provided unique, real-world experience in global health for certificate program students.
Partnering for a Healthier World
Faculty and students are partnering with World Vision, Power Up Gambia, public health schools and agencies in Paris and China, and more.
Mixed Methods Approach to Public Health
Alex Radunsky, MPH '08, applies a mixed methods approach to his research on HIV in Africa as a Harvard University doctoral student. His work is rooted in his Drexel education.
