Redefining Charity: The Concept of Pay-What-You-Can Restaurants

Mariana Chilton, PhD, professor of Health Management and Policy and director of the Center for Hunger Free Communities, and Donnell Jones-Craven, general manager of the Center’s EAT Café, were both quoted in a Jan. 23 Washington Post story on pay-what-you-can establishments that specifically highlighted the EAT Café. The story was also picked up on Jan. 27 by the Palm Beach Post and the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. The story continues to circulate in newspapers across the country, most recently appearing in the Austin American-Statesman Feb. 5. On Feb. 2, it was printed in the Press of Atlantic City, and in the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News Jan. 31.
