Earlier this month, Drexel’s Maternal and Child Health Student Organization (MCHSO) hosted its winter term General Body Meeting. This was the occasion to present the organization to new students, learn more about MCH opportunities and introduce the 2026 officers.
More than 30 students from the Dornsife School of Public Health and other schools at Drexel attended this event. It was a time to get together and share a dinner provided by MCHSO with others while working on vision boards for the new year.
“Meeting the MCHSO team and learning about the organization was an inspiring experience, especially seeing fellow students engaged in shaping its vision," said Cynthia Santana, a first-year MPH student majoring in Epidemiology.
MCHSO provided students with art supplies as well as images representing families, mothers and babies, and women’s empowerment, for their vision boards. This was done in alignment with the organization mission.
"Being in the same space with other students who share a passion for MCH, while each of us created our own vision board, made the moment truly meaningful," added Santana.
This event was not only an occasion to network among students; but also, for the new officers to hear from others about ideas that could be incorporated into the MCHSO 2026 plan and discuss ways to include more people and raise awareness.
2026 Officers want to thank everyone who attended the Winter General Body Meeting and look forward to contributing more to the community.
