Discussions with the Dean: Meet Global Studies Alum Kejsi Ruka '24

Kejsi Ruka and Dean Brown

October 30, 2024

Kejsi Ruka ’24 joined Dean David Brown, PhD, for the latest installment of his Discussions with the Dean series. The recent global studies graduate spoke about many of her experiences as a student at Drexel, including her research into gender and corruption and her role as editor-in-chief of The Triangle.

The Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages prepares students to see the world from different perspectives, emphasizing opportunities for experiential learning.

“I knew when I came here I wanted to be global studies,” Ruka explained. “Part of the reason is that I grew up with a global mindset, not being from the US and always being really excited to learn about different cultures and learn other languages.”

“I really enjoyed the interdisciplinary nature of global studies I liked that you could study a language, you could study sociology, you could study history and so many different things, and it all comes together.”
