What is your current position?
I am the Founder and Executive Director of Sharing Excess.
What are your current responsibilities in this position?
I’m responsible for operations management and engineering, fundraising, program expansion, partnership outreach and team/department coordination.
Do you have exciting updates to share?
Sharing Excess has made some really exciting partnerships! Sharing Excess is the official food rescue partner of the new grocery store on Drexel's campus, GIANT Heirloom Market, which we attended the grand opening for and met the president of GIANT and received our first big check. We also partnered with a fast-scaling produce subscription startup called Misfits Market to address student food insecurity. We also co-hosted a free farmers market on Drexel's campus, giving over 350lbs of food away to any and all students/community members.
Additionally, Sharing Excess’ story was featured in Newsweek!
Describe your co-op or classroom experience and how it shaped you.
The entrepreneurship co-op experience allowed me to start Sharing Excess. Free from classes, and supported by funding, I had fertile ground to cultivate a team and launch my dream. If it were not for the entrepreneurship co-op, we would not exist.
How are you staying connected to Drexel?
My company is incubating in the Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship.
