Computer Science

Provides students with a breadth of knowledge in areas that form the foundation of computer science. The student adds some depth by selecting courses from a list of advanced computer science courses (25 credits). The computer science minor is available to all University students in good standing, except BS in Computer Science majors.

Data Science

Combines basic courses in statistics, information and technology and social contexts to address problems that require large and disparate datasets. The data science minor is available to all University students in good standing, except BS in Data Science majors.

Emergency Management

Designed for students who would like to learn fundamental competencies expected of professionals in the field of emergency management. The curriculum is mapped to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation. Part-time students working in public and private sectors may benefit from this minor, including all levels of government, law enforcement, fire personnel, military, facilities and emergency medical personnel. The emergency management minor is available to all University students in good standing.

Human Centered Computing

Combines basic courses in areas including human computer interaction, collaborative work and graphical user interfaces. The minor is available to all University students in good standing.

Information Systems

Combines basic courses in areas including human-computer interaction, systems analysis, database management systems and computer networking technology. The information systems minor is available to all University students in good standing, except BS in Information Systems majors.

Provides an overview of the fundamentals of software engineering, including computer programming, software design and architecture, software verification and validation, and data structures.
