Data Science Undergraduate Program
Drexel CCI's Data Science bachelor's degree students learn to find meaning in oceans of data. With the explosive growth of large scale data sources in today's technology-driven world, data science can provide the unique insights for science, business and social good. Data science majors tend to be good with quantitative analysis and like making sense out of data and presenting useful information in ways that other can understand.
Data Science Program Features
- Innovative coursework in data mining, information retrieval, visual analytics, social media trend spotting, human-computer interaction and information policy;
- Focuses on how to create novel information products, develop new insights about people's behavior and solve problems that require large and disparate datasets, in domains such as health care, finance, research and development, and business operations;
- Students can customize and enhance their studies through a variety of available minors at CCI, including Computer Science, Emergency Management, Human Centered Computing, Information Systems, Security Technology and Software Engineering;
- Accelerated degree program available, which enables students to graduate with both a bachelor's and master's degree in five years.
Gain Job Experience Before Graduating
Founded in 1919, Drexel's cooperative education program was one of the first of its kind, and it continues to be among the largest and most renowned. Drexel Co-op allows students to test drive careers, network and gain experience before graduation. Students choose from more than 1,700 employers in 35 states and 45 international locations, or conduct an independent search. Students in the BSDS program can participate in a four-year, one co-op program, a five-year three co-op program, or a five-year two co-op program (with a combined BS/MS degree). Graduates of the data science undergraduate program could hold positions such as Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Officer, Information Architect and Usability Analyst.
