Academic Overview

The Department of Biology offers a full range of academic programs and concentrations in the Biological Sciences to suit the diverse interests and career goals of undergraduate and graduate students. For academically qualified students, the Department offers two accelerated degree options. Participating students earn both a bachelor’s and an advanced degree concurrently, graduating sooner than they would in traditional programs. For students in other majors who are interested in enhancing their primary studies with work in biology, the Department also offers three diverse minors.

Undergraduates also have the opportunity to experience real-life career options through Drexel’s cooperative education program. Although the Department strongly recommends participating in the Co-op program, students may choose not to participate and instead complete 4 years of traditional undergraduate study.
